Recently, the U.S. government officially implemented new US China tariffs, introducing reciprocal measures with significant impacts outlined below:

As part of the latest US tariff update, shipments departing China after 12:01 AM Eastern Time, April 9, 2025, will face an additional 84% import duty when entering the United States. This increase comes on top of the previously imposed 20% tariff under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).

Latest Update: As of Wednesday, April 9, U.S. President Donald Trump announced an increase in tariffs on Chinese imports to 125%, effective immediately, while temporarily suspending punitive tariffs on most other countries for a period of 90 days.

 
Exceptions:
Goods already subject to Section 232 tariffs—such as steel and aluminum products, automobiles and automotive parts—as well as goods that may be subject to Section 232 in the future, are excluded. Additionally, the reciprocal tariff policy does not apply to certain critical U.S. resources including select energy products, minerals, gold bars, copper, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and timber products.

To reflect the changes in shipping from China to US cost due to the additional 84% duty, Global Vertical will implement the following pricing adjustments for all affected orders:

1.Duty-exclusive (Self-Clearance) orders: Tariffs will be charged based on actual customs declarations and costs incurred.

2.Duty-inclusive orders: An additional surcharge of RMB 3/kg will be applied on top of the current tax-inclusive rate.

3.Duty-inclusive full container loads (FCL): An extra USD 3,000 per 40HQ container will be added to the original all-in duty-inclusive price.

Please note, this policy specifically targets shipments exported from Mainland China. We will continue to monitor customs policies closely and adjust accordingly.

Important Note:
Should the U.S. government impose further tariff increases, our pricing will proportionally adjust by RMB 0.6/kg for every incremental 10% tariff increase. No further notices will be issued separately.
